Electric car sales in India are fast increasing, with a total of 42,067 units registered. After several months of decline, the UK has seen an uptick, with 21,726 BEVs registered in November.
Electric vehicle sales are rapidly increasing; in the first half of 2021, sales increased by 26%, accounting for 2.6 million units, or 26% of new vehicle sales in the global automotive market.
Electric two-wheeler sales were 58,264 units in September, according to the Centre for Energy Finance at Council on Energy, Environment and Water at Centre for Energy Finance (CEEW-CEF). Electric three-wheeler sales were 59,808 units. India has already sold 1.18 lakh electric vehicles, accounting for 90 percent of total sales in the previous fiscal year.
Electric car sales in India have increased, with 42,067 units registered in November 2021, up from 12,858 units in November 2020 and 38,715 units in October 2021.
Electric vehicles sales in UK
In the United Kingdom, all-electric cars account for the majority of plug-in sales, which grew by 110 percent in November compared to plug-in hybrids. BEVs registered 21,726, PHEVs 10,796 for a total of 32,522 vehicles with a market share of 28.1 percent.
Tata Motors
Tata Motors, India’s leading electric car manufacturer, sold 1751 Tata Nexon EVs and Tigor EVs in November 2021. Electric vehicle sales are four times higher than the 413 units delivered in November 2020.
Hero Electric
Hero Electric India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer has sold 7,000 units of its city speed electric two-wheelers in the Indian market in November 2021. It has witnessed a great increase in its sales when compared to the sales number of 1,169 units last year in November. Hero Electric’s portfolio offers both city-speed as well as low-speed models in the Indian market.
Joy e-Bike
WardWizard Innovations and Mobility an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer which sells under the Joy e-Bike brand has also witnessed great sales of its electric vehicles in November 2021. The company’s sales stood at 13,516 units nearly sevenfold growth compared to the 1,957 electric two-wheelers sold during the same period in 2020.
