With the purchase of 10 BYD ETM6 pure-electric trucks in partnership with Bluekens EV, a strategic partner and BYD truck distributor for the Netherlands, Top Delivery Services (TDS) made a significant commitment to emission-free city distribution. The vehicles will be used exclusively for IKEA’s environmentally friendly zero-emission delivery services in Amsterdam.
“In the sphere of electric transportation, TDS has already accomplished a great deal. TDS Director René Wissink commented, “This is an exciting development because we quickly become one of the leading participants in the market for emission-free distribution. In this context, coordination with strategic partner Bluekens EV is vital.”
TDS contacted Bluekens EV, a BYD electric truck distributor and experts in emission-free city logistics and fleet management solutions, in search of a solution for IKEA.
“Without Bluekens EV, which is such a big name in the transportation business, TDS would not have been able to take this step,” Wissink added. “The organization has a lot of experience in the sector of electric transportation, and we know we’ll have after-sales and maintenance support, so we’re really confident.”
In addition to this expertise, Bluekens EV provided TDS with a 360-degree sales and after-sales service plan. This is further strengthened by a variety of value-added services such as charging infrastructure, fleet management, and complete leasing options.
The BYD ETM6 electric trucks have a variety of innovative characteristics that make them the ideal zero-emission vehicles for achieving environmental goals while also being exceptionally safe, quiet, and practical for driving in high-density city centers. The BYD ETM6 zero-emission electric truck, powered by BYD Iron-Phosphate Battery technology, has the longest driving range in its 7.5-ton category, at 125 miles with a full load, as well as prolonged battery life and high levels of safety.
“The BYD ETM6 is ideal for emission-free city logistics,” remarked Gert-Jan Jonker, Bluekens EV’s General Manager. “This model, in comparison to most electric trucks, rides smoothly, has a considerable range for everyday use, and fast charging technology.”
“We are happy that BYD electric trucks have been picked by such a well-known name as TDS and also for the role they will play in providing such an essential zero-emission delivery service for IKEA in Amsterdam,” said Mahmut Mobassit, Electric Truck Director, BYD Europe B.V.
“Our BYD ETM6 embraces a new era in electric driven commercial transportation by being quiet, clean, and safe, without sacrificing performance, efficiency, or practicality.” We are glad to support TDS with a comprehensive aftersales service and fleet management solution in collaboration with our Dutch partner, Bluekens EV, to continually elevate operating efficiencies while knowing that our electric rucks are environmentally friendly.”
